When you usually think about stained glass, you don't always think, "hmm I might want to mix some curved walnut wood into this." The reality is that most stained glass is wrapped in a wood frame, but if we go further we'll find a lot of pieces over time that some very beautiful craftsmanship with the wood framing. It's almost like the wood crafter, and the stained glass master marry this beautiful work of art to create something so pleasing to the eyes.
It's that time of the year where all the state contests for supporting local businesses small businesses over the large businesses or even the corporate mega chains. I kid but it's true.
I don't normally like to draw attention to myself or even humble brag, but I think it's important to build a legacy out of The Glass Master. Heck, even the name is pretty cool!
Im really going to be focused on building my Facebook likes, and reviews, and also my google reviews and site, please make sure that you head over and hit the like button and also if you feel I've earned a 5 star, please hit up my google page! I'm the Denver Stained Glass Master! :)
There is nothing better than a chilly summer night, where you can fire up the fireplace.
Fireplaces can be a great thing, but the dangers for kiddos can be real. Glass surrounds will provide an extra layer of protection. As much as we love the protection, it doesn't hurt to have the room illuminating with colors! Here is a pretty simple and custom project I did go a client. Hope you like it!
DENVER STAINED GLASS FOR WINOS
Sit and think about all the place you have been to when sampling wines. There's always stained glass there. There is something about the art is crafting wine, tasting win, and enjoying the ambiance of where you are drinking the wine! Stained glass will help get you to the ambient! Here is a picture where I think this personal wine room really shines!
There is something that's magical the way light can dance through a home through a normal window. Add stained class colors, shapes, lines, and that dance changes dramatically. Below is a picture of a left and right transom. In the bidding a custom stained glass door insert project. I can literally stare at this image for hours, and Im sure the owner does that :) Do you like it, does this shot intrigue to create your own?
If you have been to Home Depot or Lowes, I'm sure you have seen the few selections they have there for you to choose from. I have a 2 options for my clients. 1) One of my Pre-Builts glass inserts or 2) a custom, one of a kind stained glass insert that will make all the neighbors jealous! What are you waiting for, give me a call today!
We have had some funky weather this year, and there will be more as normal. Just cross your fingers we don't get 4ft of snow in July. haha, so here is my top three things to do as an adult when you are inside on a rainy day in Denver!
1) Unplug! don't turn on a the TV, Radio, Computer and turn off your internet on your phone. If you have an iPhone, putting the phone on Do Not Disturb will allow phone calls to come in, but won't allow other things such as emails ding your day!
2) Clean! I know this may sound really lame, but the saying is super true, Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Clean space, clean mind. Clutter has been shown to enhance depression, and curve moods, and appetite.
3) Get crafty! Whether thats planning your next project around the house, or breaking out the paper mache. There's something about getting your mind focused on things other than life! Escapism is a great thing, every now and then!
Hope you enjoyed this and to bright your day here is some local stained glass from around Denver I know you'll love.
As you know I love the arts! Stained glass is definitely something I can stare at for hours, and I don't mean while I create, I mean walking into an old mansion, or building. One thing I love is modern with a splash of traditional. I think it's pretty neat how something so old can mix sometimes so effortlessly with today's trends.
So if you have a modern kitchen and it has newer style cabinets, let's talk! I would love to see how we can make some magic with those cabinets! giving them a little uniqueness.
Have you ever wanted that fire to give some color? It's pretty easy. Here is a simple example of a designed I did for a fireplace cover. I hope you love it. It's not only functional, but it really is added safety measure to ensure that all your embers stay inside.
Bog box stores carry a lot, but what it lacks (not just an employee when you need help) is knowledgeable people on products. These stores carry a lot of brands, and the brands given a little pamphlet on the product, but there are so many variables when it comes to doors, limits, and even limited style choices.
I mention this because as a small business it's important to weight your options. 1) What's important to you? 2) What is your budget? 3) Can you benefit your local community by supporting local?
Here is a couple images of Door replacements that I've personally done. I hope you love them!
This is one of those sayings that really resinates in so many facets of our lives. Love, Homes, Hobbies, Jobs and the list can go on. Stained glass for many around Denver, and every other city in the world for that matter. Stained glass to me is a reminder to me that there were people and things before my existence. This past week I took some time and created a little something for my own home since most of the projects I make are for clients. It was nice, and my heart is filled with the love and passion I have for stained glass! I hope stained glass makes you feel the same way!
Still to date one of the most challenging projects I've ever undertaken and yet was one of the most rewarding aspect of my career. Understanding stained glass in Denver was a challenge since the stained glass over the years has been pretty vast in styles, and then adding a CASTLE to Colorado!!! It was amazing challenging to figure out how to being Colorado into this English Castle in Denver. Sometime it may take effort to look at a project, but the end result might just be the most rewarding end result!
At least 10 times per year I get asked, if there is any way to salvage a window frame where an old stained glass used to be. Usually the frame is shaped with my sides or long angles. These projects are one of my favorites due to the nature of problem solving and creating a unique piece in an old space. Here is an example. of that.

Looking through thousands of projects that I've completed for clients all over the world. My heart always draws back to this project. The architecture is pretty mid-centre modern, but this house was actually a 2015. The full idea of the client was just to get maximum light. The client loved that she was able to introduce all this new light into her space and loved this simple project created a unique home feature that others in her area do not have. How creative is your space?
Yes, I used the word trending. I'm not that old, but it's actually really cool to see theses trends coming in and out even 15 years to so! It's really nice to be able sit back and take some of the credit for bring original, dare I say Hipster? haha. I hope you guys have had a great week and I can't wait to do more stained glass inlays for cabinets and for companies like California Closets who does a variety of cabinets style installs.
Here are a couple images of some cabinets I've don't for clients.'
"Weather" your fireplace provides heat as a primary source, or if you just use to to supplement, the minute spring moves on in, your windows fling open with pollination hoorays! for the next 8 months that fire place will be around and can sometimes be an eye sore to stare inside and not see any beautiful orange flames. Fear not! Here are a couple fireplace ideas to spruce up 8 months and give the fireplace back some life!
Sometimes houses come with a good solid door, and a cheese glass sidelight. Those sidelights are there, so you can see out of them and to allow your home to be lightened up naturally. The huge issue people have with Sidelights is that they don't like to feel like they live in. fishbowl. They apply a film that's really thick and blocks about 2-3 stops of light, but also visibility, so you can see who's at your front door. Now stained glass can be clear is some spots for your to look out, or you can have me design some portions of different opacities, so you still make out if someone is at your door when they aren't suppose to be.
So whether you have a sidelight or a nice return all next to you door, you have options to introduce Natural light, and also add a little visible security!

Growing up for so long in this state I've come to drive around and see the beauty around us. Not just our natural colors, but the colors of all the stained glass that is embedded in the rich history (houses and buildings) in our amazing state!
Here is a couple pieces that makes me just fall more and more in love with our state!
We have all tried to clean out a house, a room, or a closet only to not find what we were looking for, or not getting all the dust bunnies up and in the trash. By adding light to the area, you'll great improve seeing when cleaning, but it actually lights up the same and you'll avoid packing stuff in that area with clutter. Light shines on clutter after all. :)
